The Scrumble Project

Building “Binary”, a Bob Oram 44′C cruising catamaran, in the Top End of Australia

Reinforcing the rear ventilation

Here is some of the unidirectional edge reinforcing under-way for the BCB hatches and doorway. More uni trenches are yet to be completed, and then around each uni reinforcement, another trench of silica/ epoxy for the hatch mounting screws.

  1. I’m building a Kelsall 48 cat and was able to get Perko door hardware on E-bay for 50-60% of lowest list but I am in the US so shipping was not bad. Your work is super and enjoying your web. also you can get a great deal on tinned wire on E-bay from a guy in Can.

  2. Thank you Harry, We have already used some Perko items on our flush access hatches, however for our doors we are looking for heavier items. We took your advice on the wire and looked up the Canadian, however as with most Can/US dealers unfortunately, he does not deal outside North America???

How is the Kelsall 48 going? Do you have a blog or photos stored somewhere like Flickr.

    Regards, Tom and Judy
