Binary’s length

Taping the exterior of the starboard hull has proceeded slowly, but steadily. The heat and humidity under the tarp, which is frustratingly low on this side, is oppressive. Surprisingly, we are still able to work with the resin in these extreme conditions.

The keel panel protruded an extra 10cm beyond the bilge panels at the stern. Rather than trimming it back, we extended the bilge panels to meet it in a sugar-scoop shape. So rather than the specified 13.4m, the boat is now 13.5m – sounds nicer, doesn’t it?
