This is the wet layup method we came up with some help from Bob Oram and Michelle Crouch at ATL. We don’t have a significant working time with the epoxy in our environment, in fact, it’s approximately 20 minutes with a 3mm or less layer of resin, modifiers and reinforcements. If the thickness is increased, the working time will decrease proportionately, so a 38mm radius fillet must be put down quickly and accurately.
We had wanted to photograph this process much earlier, however the photos could not be taken as we both work flat out for just under 1 hour. Today we realised our 6 year old daughter, August, has quite a good eye for frame and could operate our digital, so this she did while we did the taping. Hopefully August’s photography says it all.
August wanted to help with boat, so she grabbed a roller while I cruised for a minute with the camera
