The form of upper flange described here is not that approved for Bob’s design. We needed this version, used by some other designers, to be in place for moving the boat. This type of layup, enables later completion of the central lockers in the beam, which also includes affixing the support for the rear cockpit roof. Adding the correct flange, once the rear cockpit roof and beam is complete, will be an easy task as that flange is laid-up on the outside of the beam.
Below – The core was removed deep enough for two layers of 1000gsm x 100mm wide fabric.
Above and below – This 1000gsm x 100mm wide fabric was very carefully folded so as the glass bundles were parallel to each other.
Below – The lay up continues down to the deck.
