Obverse, converse and reverse

It is obvious that catamarans require quite a lot of the structure is made twice, however only the simplest are made of completely symmetrical halves. In fact like items in the other hull are reversed in each dimension.

The photos below are an example of what can happen when one is tired and repeating a twin faceted construction for the other hull, working down-hand while the component is down side up.

I have repaired my error by hand replacing the core with its upper laminate from the correct location.

Hand tools were used to:

  • Remove the core and upper laminate in a more intact way.
  • Save a significant piece of 16mm Duflex.
  • Not disturb our neighbours enjoying their Sunday afternoon.
  • Self flagellate to encourage myself not to make similar mistakes.
