Water Tank Hatch Doublers

The doubler inside the hatch serves to stiffen the cut-out, and act as a jam or flange for the lid. A rubber seal will be installed on the doubler to face the lid, the latch will close under it and the hinge washers and nuts will be counter-bored into it.

Below – The doublers were made from the leftover large hatch cut-outs from the back cabin bulkhead.

Below – The weft triax going on 3 sides only, as the aft edge abuts the forward structural beam, so will be taped in when the deck is done internally.
