Vacuum Infusion – details of our typical layup

In response to an enquiry we received regarding the materials we use in vacuum infusion, I will try to describe what has been successful for us.

The following is a diagram of a typical layup inside the vacuum bag:

Here are some examples of the individual layers.

Firstly, the glass laid on the Duflex (although not obvious, bagging film has been attached using sealant tape to the underside of the Duflex – this forms the bottom layer of bagging film):

Secondly, peelply, purchased from ATL – Econostitch Peel Ply (ignoring the green material in this photograph for the moment):

Thirdly, release film, purchased from ATL – Wrightlon Micro-Perforated Release Film (ignoring the green material in this photograph for the moment):

Fourthly, resin distribution/flow/infusion medium, purchased from ATL – Greenflow Infusion Medium:

Lastly, the top layer bagging film and sealant, purchased from ATL – Econolon Bagging Film and AT-200Y sealant tape:
