The BCB Saga

Ok, so I haven’t posted for a while, but I have been busy, and now I have to play catch up. The focus has mostly been on the back cabin bulkhead (BCB) and doing all the things that I can, down-hand, that is anything I can do whilst the BCB is horizontal and at workbench height. However, we have also been working on beams, the never ending design and procurement.

We even had a list of those tasks and it clearly showed that if we installed the BCB before any cut outs or reinforcing was done, there would still be an enormous amount to do with the panel vertical, which would be a pain.

The BCB saga is also long as I had to make the dutch door, along with a substantial design change to it half way through. Then ensure the two halves fit, work with all our requirements for security, weather proofing, discrete when half or fully open, blend with the hatches etc.

So even though it takes quite a time soon we will have, essentially, the “back wall of our house” complete except for surface finishing and bolting on doors, hatches and latches etc.

We started with Ventilation and Light and moved on to Reinforcing the rear ventilation

Here is the completion of the first trench, a delay for cure and then the completed second trench, around each section that will be cut out to create the hatch and door openings.
